Pilanesberg is situated on the eroded remains of an extinct volcanic crater - one of only three in the world. The Park consists of numerous hills, wooded ravines and grassed open plains, making the area very picturesque. A wide diversity of eco-types makes a beautiful home for more than 35 species of large mammals, the sought-after "Big Five" and more than 300 bird species.
The
Pilanesberg Game Reserve, a malaria-free reserve, covers an area of 55 000ha. It has been restocked with most of the species that inhabited the area in the late eighteenth century.
The scenic beauty of Pilanesberg is reflected in
the large centrally situated lake. Water birds, hippo and crocodile abound
at this, the watering hole to the reserve's wildlife. The call of the majestic African Fish Eagle
is all to be heard at this remote location.
The Pilanesberg has mild dry winters and warm to hot wet summers with
"Bushveld" vegetation. Two hours by road from
Johannesburg/Pretoria.

Manyane is nestled within the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
Set in unspoilt natural surroundings are thatched African-style chalets studded in a tapestry of indigenous flora.
Self-contained chalets have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, centrally situated pool and
relaxation area.

All chalets have a private patio and braai area. Chalets consist of two, four and six bed
permutations.
