On safari your
accommodation in the Kruger National Park is in family style chalets
or bungalows inside the Kruger National Park . We prefer to stay in the central areas, such as
Skukuza, Satara etc. Game viewing is at it best in these areas. Around
here the vegetation is most suitable for large herds of grazers and
browsers. This in turn attracts lion and other predators. Hence this is known to the locals as "lion
country".
Although there are other accommodation options
outside of the Kruger National Park , we prefer not to use these, since
it is then necessary to
enter each day as a day visitor wasting precious game viewing time
commuting to and fro. The guest to the Kruger National Park
is also then denied the exciting and exhilarating opportunity of spending
the night inside this National Park.
At night as you sit around the campfire,
listening to yarns spun by your seasoned guide, you’ll hear the roar
of a lion in the distance, watch hyena hungrily pacing the fence and
marvel at Africa's wide open skies.

Kruger National Park
accommodation with private bathroom, air conditioning and a fridge
On the Kruger National Park 4 day safari, as an optional extra, it is possible to enjoy a bush walk in the Kruger National Park . Advanced booking
essential.
With your trained ranger, you will be introduced to the natural
environment close up. On this 3 hour adventure, you'll have an in-depth
experience getting to know the African bush, track the spoor of game,
and explore the bush on foot. Easy paced, though not recommended for
the frail.
A free
night drive is included on all our safaris to the Kruger National Park
. From an open vehicle, you will have the opportunity to watch the
night life by spotlight. A hyena creeping away into the shadows, cats
seldom seen during the day, and other game are regularly spotted on
these night drives.
Night drives are conducted in open vehicles and so you are exposed to
the elements. During the winter months it can get very cold and a warm
jacket is essential.
All other transport for game drives is in a 7-seater luxury microbus.
The air conditioning and large windows offer comfort and excellent
visibility.
The Kruger National Park enjoys a warm climate year round.
Spring is very short from September to
mid October. Mild and pleasant. The earth starts turning green.
Temp: 15 deg C at night to a midday high of 30 deg C.
Summer brings the welcome rains. Mid October until end February.
Young are born soon after the first rains. Can
get very hot, and the air conditioned vehicles and chalets are
appreciated.
Temp: 20 deg C at night to a midday high of 35 deg C.
March to April.
Temp: 15 deg C at night to a midday high of 30 deg C.
Winter enjoys mild weather, with no rain. Vegetation is at its
lowest, making game viewing fairly easy. Water is scarce, so animals tend to congregate at
the waterholes. May to August.

The Kruger National Park falls in a malaria
area. Should an infected anopheles mosquito bite a person, the
malaria bug would be transfered. This mosquito emerges at around 4 or
5 pm in the evenings.
Not all mosquitoes are infected.
Consult your doctor regarding a malarial prophylaxis.
Besides taking any medication, it is best to
avoid being bitten at all. Hints
to avoid being bitten by the anopheles mosquito
- from twilight, apply a mosquito repellent to
exposed body areas,
citronella oil is a natural and very effective
- wear long trousers covering the ankles, as
well as socks and covered shoes
- at night, close all doors and windows,
mosquito netting over the doors and windows allows for a supply of
fresh air
